The HPI Stage-D10 Ford Mustang GT RTR S650 - , part number HPI-161004, is a 1/10 scale pre-assembled rear-wheel-drive drift car with a painted and officially licensed Ford Mustang RTR Spec-5 FD body. Designed for both newcomers and experienced RC drifters, this Ready-to-Run package combines manageable brushed power with a chassis offering extensive setup potential. The James Deane Formula Drift livery, replica Aero-5 wheels, removable rear aerodiscs and scale body details create an authentic appearance, while the integrated LED system adds headlights, grille lights, tail lights and brake lights for a distinctive look on the track.
Power comes from a 20T brushed 540 motor and SC-3SWP2 60A ESC, delivering smooth, controllable performance for learning throttle control, transitions and drift lines. The D-Box3 Lite drift gyro provides steering assistance, with gain adjustment available from the fourth channel of the TF-51 transmitter. The RF-51 receiver includes a waterproof silicone inner jacket, built-in failsafe and a dedicated LED connection.
Features
Underneath the detailed Mustang shell is a purpose-built 2WD RWD drift platform with oil-filled threaded coilover shocks and adjustable suspension geometry. Camber links, toe blocks, roll centre and camber gain positions allow the handling to be refined as driving experience develops. Ackermann geometry can be adjusted in several directions, while wheel hex spacing can be changed by 1mm or 2mm to tune the track width.
The chassis supports mid or rear shorty battery placement and offers more than 100 motor positions. The gearbox can be configured with three or four gears, giving more than 200 possible motor and transmission arrangements when combined. A sealed composite geared rear differential, metal-shielded ball bearings and an adjustable ESC mounting plate complete a platform built for progression. The magnetic body mounting system avoids body posts showing through the shell, while conventional mounting options are also included for suggested compatibility with other 1/10 scale shells.
